Formal Rush takes place in person during the spring semester and gives prospective members the opportunity to visit all four men's cooperative houses at Purdue. During these events, you can tour each house, ask questions, meet current members, and get a feel for what makes each house unique. Formal Rush events require business casual attire and are open to current high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
Following Formal Rush, prospective members may receive invitations to attend events at individual houses. Informal Rush is a chance to spend more time at the houses you're interested in, get to know the members, and learn more about each house's culture and traditions. You can choose to attend any or all of the houses that invite you back. All Informal Rush events are casual, so come as you are and enjoy getting to know the guys.

Purdue's cooperative system has been part of campus life for more than 75 years, offering students an affordable and community-focused alternative to traditional campus housing. Today, Purdue is home to 11 cooperative houses, including four men's houses and seven women's houses.
Through the Purdue Cooperative Council (PCC), members have access to more than $15,000 in scholarships each year. Cooperative members also maintain GPAs above the university average, showing that cooperative living provides a strong balance between academics, community, and campus life.
Unlike traditional fraternities and sororities, cooperative houses are independently operated rather than supported by national organizations. Members share the responsibility of running their houses, from preparing meals and maintaining the property to managing daily operations. This hands-on experience helps students develop practical life skills, take on leadership roles, and build a strong sense of community.
